We may be a small company but we're a great one too

Every Thanksgiving, people talk about what they’re thankful for … family, friends, pumpkin pie, stretchy pants. And while I’m thankful for all of those things (especially the stretchy pants), what I keep coming back to is our people. The crew that makes up Indiana Metal.

When you walk into our shop, you won’t find movie stars or royalty. You’ll find Josh, who somehow manages to keep the shop humming and the forklifts moving even when it feels like chaos. You’ll find Gabrielle, who started at the front desk and now practically runs production with a spreadsheet in one hand and her sanity (barely) in the other. You’ll find Teddy, who could sell steel to someone living in a glass house and still have them laughing by the end of the call. You’ll find Will, quiet as a church mouse until you ask him about standing seam, then you’ll get a full TED Talk.

And that’s the thing. Indiana Metal isn’t made different because of our products, though let’s be honest, they’re pretty amazing. We’re different because of our people. The ones who roll up their sleeves, show up early, stay late, and take pride in every inch of steel that leaves our lot. The ones who make jokes in the middle of a stressful day, who care about our contractors like they’re family, and who remind me every single day that hard work doesn’t have to mean hard hearts.

We may not be as big as Menards or Home Depot, and yes, we might be surrounded by cornfields, but we’re building something special here. We’ve got a brand that’s getting noticed across the country, a team that keeps outgrowing its own job titles, and customers who drive hours just to load up on Indiana Metal.

And even though we’re small-town, we’re not small-time. We’ve got new machines, a robot that makes precision bends faster than ever, and a shop that’s constantly innovating. We’re blending the best of both worlds, the hometown heart and the cutting-edge technology, proving that you don’t have to be a giant company to do big things.

We’re not fancy, but we’re real. Our steel doesn’t just go on roofs; it ends up on family dream homes, barns, wineries, libraries, and projects that our people care about. We’ve got new faces joining the crew, new ideas rolling in, and more and more people finding out what “Indiana-made” really means.

So no, we might not have the big-box budget or a commercial on TV (yet), but we have grit, heart, innovation, and a whole lot of pride in what we do! Honestly, that’s worth more than any billboard.

So this Thanksgiving, when I think about what I’m thankful for … yes, I’m thankful for pie, and yes, I’m thankful for a long weekend, but I’m mostly thankful for this crew. For every laugh, every “we’ll figure it out,” and every small miracle that happens between the first order of the day and the last truck (always Jonathan) pulls out, sometimes at midnight.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just metal we’re manufacturing, it’s a difference. One panel, one project, one person at a time.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Indiana Metal. We’re thankful for your business!
